# Guided tour of the interface

Depending on the user's profile, certain menus and content may differ, but the interface logic remains the same.

The GLPI interface is composed of different areas grouping the application's functionalities according to their nature.

## Changing Profile and/or Interface

From the user menu, it is possible to perform several actions such as changing the entity or profile, modifying the display language, etc.

### 1. Changing Profile

To change profile, simply click on the current profile and select the one that suits you. If the selected profile is not available in the current entity, the entity will then be automatically changed.

If the profile is not available in the entity you select, you will be redirected to the entity for which it was assigned to you.

* To switch profiles, click on your avatar in the top right corner
* Click on your current profile name
* Select the desired profile

If the profile is not available in the entity you select, you will be redirected to the entity for which it was assigned to you.

### 2. Changing Entity

To change entity, select the desired entity from the list.

If the profile you are logged in with is not available in the desired entity, the profile associated with that entity will be applied.

* Click on the entity you are currently in
* The list of entities you have access to appears
* Click the chevron <i class="fa-chevrons-down">:chevrons-down:</i> to access the entity and all its sub-entities
* Or click on the entity itself to access only that entity
